SIMSI is an on-line information management tool that enables the management of all Infrastructure Canada programs. SIMSI is a web-based system that conforms to the Government On-Line commitment, and meets the higher standards of openness and transparency, due diligence and reporting demanded by Canadians.
SIMSI permits municipalities to apply on-line for project funding, monitor project status and provide claim information throughout the life of a project. It allows Infrastructure Canada, Federal Delivery Partners, Provinces and Territories to access funding applications, apply due diligence, track & report project approvals, completion & closure, track benefits, and financial commitments & expenditures.
SIMSI also allows Canadians to have access to announced projects via the Infrastructure Canada web site.
"SIMSI greatly supported the collaboration among the province, the federal delivery partner (Industry Canada) and the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) in delivering the Canada-Ontario Municipal Rural Infrastructure Fund (COMRIF)…. In general, AMO and the other COMRIF partners were very pleased with SIMSI and team and how they supported their rollout of the COMRIF program, assisted with the support of municipal applications submissions and helped achieved efficiencies in processing the funding applications.
